Dr. Christopher Lee, DVM

Dr.Lee is the founder and owner of the Eliot Veterinary Hospital. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire in 1981 where he earned his bachelor of science degree in Animal Science and Pre-Veterinary Medicine. After pursuing a master of science degree at the University of New Hampshire, Dr. Lee received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota in 1987 graduating Magna Cum Laude. He also completed an internship in emergency medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Following graduation from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Lee owned and operated the South Berwick Veterinary Hospital for 20 years where he practiced small animal medicine and surgery with special interests in dermatology, ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery and orthopedics.

Outside of the hospital Dr. Lee lives in South Berwick, Maine with his wife of 34 years. He enjoys cooking, gardening, spending time with his family, hiking, and physical training. He is especially enamored with his grandchildren and his dog, Boston. Dr. Lee is also an avid fan of all New England sports and he loves spending time at the lake, water sports, the beach, and he occasionally gets out on the golf course. Dr. Lee is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Maine Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Information Network.
Dr. Shannon Emmons, DVM

Eliot Veterinary Hospital is both proud and excited to announce the addition of Dr. Shannon Emmons to the staff as associate veterinarian!
While growing up in South Berwick, Maine Dr. Emmons knew at a young age that she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. As a Marshwood student she worked as a veterinary assistant for Dr. Lee at South Berwick Veterinary Hospital. Following graduation from high school she went on to attend the University of Vermont and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary concentration. Dr. Emmons then continued her academic pursuits at Atlantic Veterinary College graduating in May of 2017 with a Doctorate of Veterinary medicine. Her primary areas of interest while in veterinary school were nutrition, exotic animal medicine, animal behavior, dentistry and veterinary pathology.

She currently lives in Lebanon with her husband, dogs, cat, guinea pigs and a horse and while not at work she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, skiing, gardening, knitting and reading. Dr. Emmons is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Maine Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Information Network.
Mariellen Carpenter

Eliot Veterinary Hospital is extremely fortunate to have Mariellen as our Hospital Manager. Mariellen graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lehigh University with a degree in Business and Economics. Following a 20-year career as the assistant director of the Ocean Process Analysis Laboratory at the University of New Hampshire, Mariellen was the practice manager at the South Berwick Veterinary Hospital for 5 years. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Eliot Veterinary Hospital and is always available to answer questions and assist our clients and patients in any way that she can.

When not at the hospital, Mariellen lives in South Berwick with her husband and dog. She enjoys gardening, reading, skiing, the lake and beach, all New England sports and enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren.
Stephanie Tingley, LVT

Stephanie Tingley has been a member of the Eliot Veterinary Hospital staff since its inception and brings with her ten years of extensive experience as a Licensed Veterinary Nurse. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology she combined her education and love for animals to achieve her certification in Veterinary Technology. Stephanie's knowledge and expertise are an integral part of the client and patient experience at Eliot Veterinary Hospital. She prides herself on excellent customer service and patient care and we are lucky to have her as part of our team.

Stephanie shares her home with her 3-year-old daughter and their two felines, Mango and Logan. Her hobbies include baking, hiking, gardening, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Alicia Deneault, LVT

Alicia Deneault (Ali) joined the staff of Eliot Veterinary Hospital in January of 2015. She's originally from New Hampton, New Hampshire where she realized at a young age that her love for animals would eventually steer her in the direction of a career in veterinary medicine. Ali obtained her associates degree in Veterinary Technology and Applied Animal Science from the Thompson School at the University of New Hampshire in 2014 where she graduated at the top of her class. She successfully completed her board examination and became a Licensed Veterinary Nurse in July of 2015. Eliot Veterinary Hospital is fortunate to have Ali who approaches her responsibilities with enthusiasm, professionalism and compassion.

Ali lives with her two adopted cats, Luna and Chewy, her Flemish Giant rabbit, Flossie, as well as her four rats, Lido, Viktor, Gustav and Bertram. When she is not at work Ali enjoys fishing, reading, cooking, gardening, hitting the beach and spending time with her family and friends.
Maddie Hartnett, LVT

Maddie completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Eliot Veterinary Hospital in the Spring of 2017. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire Thompson School of Applied Sciences in May of 2017 with degrees in Veterinary Technology and Small Animal Care. Maddie joined our team in May 2017 after graduation. She has since passed her National Veterinary Technician Exam and is now a licensed Veterinary Nurse. Maddie is dedicated to her profession, shows compassion and care for the patients and owners that she cares for and brings a fun and friendly personality.

She currently lives in Rye, New Hampshire with her two dogs, Winston and Jazz and her hamster, Peach. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time on the beach, skiing and hiking. We are very fortunate to have Maddie as part of our staff.
Sarah Hulen, VA

Sarah joined the staff as a Veterinary Assistant in November 2017. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire Thompson School of Applied Sciences in May of 2015 with a focus in Small Animals. Sarah has quickly become an integral part of the team assisting in all areas of the hospital. She brings enthusiasm, care for the animals and attention to detail both in and outside of the exam room.

She currently lives in Barrington, New Hampshire with her two cats, Nala and Simba. When she is not at work, she enjoys horseback riding, reading, the gym and spending time with friends and family. We are very fortunate to have Sarah as part of our staff.
Boston, Greeter

Boston is an original member of the staff at Eliot Veterinary Hospital. His principal responsibilities include client and patient greeting and hospitality, playing with patients while they are waiting for their appointments (although he has a tendency to avoid cats), guarding all the dog beds throughout the hospital, ensuring that he receives treats from all delivery personnel and occasionally pilfering food from the staff break room.

Boston enjoys hiking in the woods and visits to the beach. He lives in South Berwick with Dr. Lee and his wife where he is spoiled rotten.
